These two Robert Jefferson designed (1964) Bokhara storage jars came from eBay a week or so ago. At 12 cm tall they are the second smallest of 4 sizes made, and as can be seen in the picture below, I am now only missing the largest to make the set complete in this JC pattern . That may take a few more years as they really don't appear very often, but until then I am sharing the joy (or splitting the cost) of this latest find by re-listing one of the two new jars back on eBay here

Jam Pots to Go
It took a while to collect these three contemporary patterns jam pots, but for the last few years, like so many other pots, they have been stored away in boxes out of sight. So it really doesn't make sense keeping them, and for once I'm listening to reason (my partner!) and listing them on eBay. From left to right patterns Ariadne (OS), Ripple (OV), and Constelation (OK). All designed by Alfred Read in 1953.

What Friends are for
I called in to the Victoria and Albert Museum last weekend, dragging behind me a long suffering friend who was putting me up for the night. Fortunately perhaps for him, the ceramic galleries were closed (due to high visitor numbers in the museum as a whole?) but in Room 74 I did manage to find this Roger Fry designed Tin-glazed earthenware part tea service made by Carter & Co for the Omega Workshop in 1915.

Three Bears
These wild cubs were made by Royal Copenhagen. I'm not sure when. There is a forth I've seen on eBay that might join them at some point, though three seems to be a better number.

Fish
This 5" shape 49 pin dish came from eBay recently. It has the 1962-64 Poole Studio mark and matches this bird pin dish that I found a few years ago. Although the green glaze on the fish dish has a nicer, rougher, underwater-like, texture. I wonder if there are any other animals out there.

Dodgy Dates
Carved shape number 83 Delphis vase with painters mark recorded as being used by Patricia Churchouse until 1965, though the vase dates from 1967 or so. Found at the Newark fair last week.

Out of the Potting Shed
This little plant pot and drip tray arrived from eBay, complete with a little limescale around the base from 90 or so years of use, but otherwise in pristine condition. So maybe potting compost doesn't stain Poole plant pots like jam or marmalade seems to stain Poole preserve jars. Shape number 561 (pot) and 562 (tray) about 4 inches tall, painted in AQ pattern by Gertie Warren in about 1927, this little plant pot seems like rare survivor. I tend not to buy, or post many photos, of these "sprig" patterned pots, but this pattern has a nice Art Deco angularity and I've not seen many plant pot shapes before either. And I think the the local garden center would charge more than £10.76 for something quite horrible and mass produced.
