Drinking partner

Two things, I cant get enough of, drink and furry beasts, combined here in a single object. The bear came from eBay last month.  The glasses and decanter I found in the Sheffield Antiques Centre today.

A sure sign of Spring

Spring seemed to arrive in Sheffield this week, with temperatures rising and longer days, the birds are singing, and i'm sure if we had any, bears would be waking up from hibernation.  This carving, though bear shaped, is about mouse size, was made in Switzerland c1920 and was sold on eBay earlier this year.

Hiking Bear

Now this bear isn't even Poole, though it continues in an animal theme.  Its a "Black Forest" Swiss carving from the early 20th Century, I think, that I found on eBay last week.  I tend to keep an eye out for these when I'm wondering through antiques fairs looking for Poole Pottery.  I thought this one was particularly nice with its rucksack and walking staff.  I just need to find a match box of the right size for him to carry.

Black Forest Bear at Swinderby Fair

I went to the new Swinderby Antique and Collector's Fair yesterday and didn't find any Poole Pottery! Has it all been collected?  I did, however, find this playful little Black Forest Bear.
